Microneedling

Microneedling in Perrysburg, Ohio

What is Microneedling

Microneedling is a relatively new innovation to aesthetic medicine for the improvement of facial acne scars and other skin surface irregularities. During this treatment, the microneedling device creates thousands of controlled micro-injuries to initiate the skin’s natural wound repair process resulting in an improvement in the appearance of facial acne scars.

How it Works

Microneedling is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure to treat facial acne scars, uneven skin tone, rough texture, and overall aging. The technique involves using multiple tiny, sterile needles to puncture the skin and cause physical trauma. This trauma prompts the derma, a deeper layer of skin, to rebuild. Micro needling may help address many skin-related complaints.
While a relatively new procedure, the reported high efficacy, safety, and post-treatment recovery rates have made it very popular. Ideal results are typically achieved after multiple sessions, however, most patients report improvement after the first procedure.

Combining PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) With Microneedling

At Revive Wellness Group we have seen amazing results by combining micro needling with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) for the restoration of skin elasticity and enhanced collagen production. PRP therapy is a perfect addition to a micro needling treatment and is 100 percent natural containing powerful growth factors.
When these growth factors get activated in the affected areas of your skin tissue, they will work to promote collagen and elastin fibers, increasing fibroblasts, and support the formation of new blood vessels, improve cellular turnover and repair the damaged skin cells.
PRP will be obtained from a small sample of your own blood, which is then run through a centrifugal process. Within a few minutes, this process will separate the platelet-rich components from other parts of the blood. There is no risk of adverse reactions because only a small volume of your blood is involved in the development of PRP for your skin enhancement.

Treatment Process

Once the blood sample has been drawn and PRP growth factors are separated from it, your treatment provider will apply the PRP topically during your treatment. Micro needling will create very tiny holes in the skin, and the PRP will be readily absorbed into the dermis through these micro-channels. You may experience a mild stinging sensation, but your skilled provider will ensure the entire treatment is performed safely, with topical numbing ointment without causing you much significant discomfort.
